Your host,
Meghan St. John
Have you ever hugged a tree? If you haven’t, try it. There's unexpected energy there, warmth, connection. Like the trees of our forests, we people of the Berkshires are both breathtaking and...a little isolated. We are small business owners, creatives, farmers, chefs, hunters, explorers, educators, healers, and trail dwellers. This podcast, Speak Little Forest, seeks to reach across our vast landscape of forests and fields and towns, to broadcast local voices about timely, captivating issues that connect us to our world within these hills and beyond.
Your host, Meghan St. John, is a local teacher, back road wanderer, mom, and culture vulture. Like some of you out there, I spend a lot of time listening to podcasts - while I'm washing the dishes, driving in my car, or getting ready for my day. While I love listening to big public figures like Oprah and Bill Gates, I also want to enjoy the voices of people in my own community. I'm starting this podcast because it's the kind of show I want to listen to. I want to hear the voices of my neighbors here in the Berkshires. I want to dig deeper into local issues of interest. I want to learn about what people are creating, destroying, supporting, and imagining right here in our special neck of the woods. If this sounds intriguing to you, too, check out the shows I’ve posted here. Speak Little Forest could be around for a Berkshire season or two, or for much longer - let’s see where this journey leads. In any case, thanks for listening, and have a beautiful Berkshire day.
